Data Engineer – Corporate Technology Analytics

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field - 8 years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database design - 5 years of experience using ELT methodologies and tools - 5 years of experience in designing, developing, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL - 3 years of coding and scripting experience (Python, Java, Scala) - 2 years of experience with the Spark framework - Knowledge of Informatica Power Center and Informatica IDMC - Familiarity with distributed, column-oriented technologies for high-performance databases like Vertica and Snowflake - Strong analytical skills for extracting insights from financial data - Proficiency in reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau - Understanding of Investment Management operations, including Security Masters, Securities Trading, and Reference Data Management - Awareness of regulatory compliance standards in the investment management industry - Experience with IBOR systems like Blackrock Aladdin, CRD, Eagle STAR (ABOR), and Eagle Pace - Familiarity with investment data platforms such as GoldenSource, FINBOURNE, NeoXam, RIMES, and JPM Fusion - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong problem-solving abilities - Capability to influence and motivate teams without direct authority - Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and evaluate complex ELT jobs to process diverse data sources into high-integrity, quality data assets - Provide feedback on data modeling policies, procedures, and standards - Capture and document system flows and technical information related to data and database design - Develop and implement comprehensive data quality standards and tools for accuracy and reliability - Collaborate with various Investment Management departments to understand new data patterns - Work alongside Data Analysts, Data Architects, and BI developers to create scalable data solutions that align with business goals - Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications
