Data Engineer - Python, SQL

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in T-SQL development and ETL processes - Proven experience in Python scripting for data manipulation and automation - Strong expertise in database design, optimization, and maintenance using T-SQL - Proficient in developing and optimizing ETL processes - Experience with automating SFTP file transfers and managing various file formats - Knowledge of data formats such as XML, JSON, X12, Excel, and Parquet - Familiarity with API integration for data import and export utilizing Python - Proficient in version control of scripts and queries using Git and Github - Experience in data visualization with Tableau is preferred - Strong problem-solving abilities with effective troubleshooting skills - Capability to identify and implement solutions to complex technical projects - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Knowledge of health care delivery and operations is a plus

Responsibilities:

- Utilize advanced T-SQL skills to design, enhance, and uphold database structures - Create complex SQL queries for reporting and data transformation tasks - Design, implement, and enhance ETL processes for effective data extraction, transformation, and loading - Develop and manage ETL scripts using Python for smooth integration with existing data workflows - Automate SFTP file transfer processes, ensuring secure and reliable data exchanges - Import and export data and files in varied formats like flat file, XML, JSON, X12, Excel, and Parquet using Python - Use Python to connect with APIs for data import and export - Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to review and improve code efficiency and maintainability - Work with analysts and business stakeholders to comprehend data visualization needs - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to grasp data requirements and ensure data integrity - Document data engineering procedures, standards, and best practices - Employ Git and GitHub for version control of scripts and queries, fostering a collaborative and organized development atmosphere - Integrate Tableau for effective data representation and reporting
