Data Engineer – Python, SQL

Requirements

Must have:

- Over 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a bachelors degree or a relevant combination of experience and education - Proven track record leading the complete migration of on-premise data warehouses to cloud platforms - Strong expertise in distributed systems, Python, PySpark, and scalable data architectures - Significant experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, along with Kubernetes and Docker - Demonstrated success in designing cost-effective Databricks implementations and medallion-style architectures - Extensive support experience for both cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring secure data movement - Excellent communication abilities along with leadership experience in mentoring engineering teams - Proficient in developing detailed and precise technical documentation

Responsibilities:

- Spearhead the technical strategy, architectural design, and roadmap for cloud-based data solutions - Create, construct, and enhance scalable data pipelines, workflows, and ELT/ETL processes using modern tools like Databricks and Kafka - Develop high-performance distributed solutions employing Python and PySpark, optimizing with techniques such as partitioning and caching - Design and manage a cloud-optimized data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform utilizing cost-effective Spark strategies - Construct and oversee CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and deployments - Craft distributed data platforms such as data lakes and data warehouses adhering to OLTP/OLAP modeling principles - Ensure secure data transfer and integration between cloud and on-premise environments - Lead initiatives in data governance, compliance, and implementing security best practices - Mentor engineers, facilitate technical discussions, and oversee cross-functional collaboration - Produce comprehensive technical documentation and contribute to community initiatives within engineering
