Job Description:
Responsible for facilitating monthly builds of data warehouses based on medical information from numerous sources. You will be responsible for the privacy and security of that data and for making sure that high volumes of data are processed efficiently.
You will be supporting Production, Loading and Development Oracle Environments, as well as Hadoop and Teradata environments as they come online.
You would be a member of a 4-5 person DBA team, who would share a weekly 7x24 on-call rotation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Installing, upgrading and patching Oracle databases so that our environments remain current
- Automating database administration tasks using PL/SQL and shell scripts
- Assisting users with both basic SQL questions and sophisticated SQL tuning strategies
- Testing backup and recovery scenarios, as well as formulating disaster recovery procedures.
- Use of Enterprise Manager Grid Control for availability and performance monitoring
- Analysis of database resource consumption, for problem avoidance, and trend forecasting.
- Working with Security Auditors as needed
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years use & knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, SQL and PLSQL
- 5+ years of Unix/Linux knowledge including Shell scripting
- Experience with and willingness to support 24x7 production environments
Desirable Skills:
- ASM & RAC Experience
- Experience with multi-terabyte databases
- Experience with Oracle Performance Monitoring & Tuning
- Work experience in Oracle 12c
