Database Administrator - SQL & Oracle

Requirements

Must have:

- Minimum 3-7 years experience in database administration - Proficiency in troubleshooting at least one production SQL Server - Ability to analyze server-level performance using DMV queries - Familiarity with tools like Extended Events, SQL Profiler, and Data Collection - Experience in optimizing T-SQL queries for better performance - Expertise in designing database schemas and indexing strategies - Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools - Understanding of various backup strategies and tools - Strong skills in disaster recovery planning and execution - Comprehension of data warehousing concepts and design principles - Experience with ETL processes and associated tools - Optional but beneficial certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Certified MySQL Database Administrator, MongoDB Certified DBA

Responsibilities:

- Oversee Azure Analytics and manage infrastructure - Implement changes in Azure DevOps for production Synapse environment - Coordinate Synapse pipelines to deliver data efficiently - Design and manage Azure infrastructure to meet business needs - Resolve data issues related to Enterprise BI platform within Azure Synapse and Power BI - Ensure compliant database backups to meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) - Conduct backup tests to ensure adherence to Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) - Address SQL Server service outages, including after-hours support - Configure SQL Server monitoring to reduce false alerts - Install and set up new SQL Servers - Deploy database change scripts from vendors or internal Development and Business Analysts after approval - Identify and implement strategies to enhance performance during issues - Document the organization’s database environment comprehensively - Plan and manage database capacity, storage, and growth - Monitor and proactively resolve locking/blocking issues - Maintain vigilant oversight of database server health and set alerts for performance issues - Ensure database security as dictated by company policies
