Database Administrator (SQL Server, Oracle)

Requirements

Must have:

- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience - Proficient documentation, communication, and critical thinking abilities - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Expertise in SQL Server - Proficiency in Oracle - Familiarity with PostgreSQL (optional) - Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably Azure, AWS is a plus) - Knowledge of PowerShell (advantageous) - Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Cloud ARM or Bicep knowledge (desirable) - Experience with ETL processes - Familiarity with Data Factory / SSIS - Knowledge of data warehousing strategies (Snowflake is beneficial) - Awareness of High Availability concepts - Understanding Disaster Recovery methods - Familiarity with Replication techniques - General knowledge of Database Architectures

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate as a Database Administrator within a team of five DBAs and several contract DBAs in supporting the enterprise-wide database landscape - Assist project teams in selecting suitable Database Architectures that meet business needs while adhering to IT Standards and Procedures - Create reference architectures for review and approval by IT and business teams, ensuring comprehensive documentation of environmental changes - Work alongside the IT Database team to formulate a Cloud database strategy and oversee migration from on-premises solutions where beneficial - Engage with in-house developers, end users, and other contract professionals - Design and enhance new or existing database systems based on defined deliverables - Develop and execute database cloud strategy implementations - Facilitate migration from local backups to NetBackup as part of the DBA teams objectives - Collaborate with Technical business teams and integrators within the ADI portfolio initiative - Mentor less experienced DBA team members - Be available for on-call hours as required
