Each year, the Carroll Center for the Blind helps nearly 1,300 blind or visually impaired children, adults, and senior citizens gain the skills they need to live active and fulfilling lives.
Our Newton campus houses our rehabilitation program, computer training classes, low vision store, and administrative offices. A large portion of our programs are services conducted in public schools, clients' homes, and their communities.

Position Summary The Development Associate plays a key role in supporting fundraising and engagement efforts through event coordination, donor support, and accurate gift processing, contributing directly to the success of our mission.
Help plan, support, and execute engaging fundraising and community events, including the Walk for Independence, Alumni and Family programs, and donor stewardship events.
Coordinate event logistics such as registrations, vendors, volunteers, communications, and day-of support.
Create and manage event registration forms, track attendance and payments, and assist with post-event reporting.
Process donations accurately and confidentially, ensuring donor data is complete and up to date.
Support donor acknowledgement efforts, so supporters receive timely, thoughtful, and personalized communications.
Partner closely with Development and Marketing teammates on invitations, outreach, and campaign support.
Provide general support for day-to-day development operations and special projects.

Strong writing, research, interpersonal, and communication skills required.Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential.
Possess a clear understanding, comfort, and proficiency with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Docs required. Raiser's Edge experience is a plus.
