Director, Data Engineering & Analytics

Salary: $150,000 - 215,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in a specialized field preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience leading and managing data teams.
• A minimum of 10 years in Information Systems with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge in P&C insurance domain.
• Expertise in data architecture, modeling, ingestion, orchestration, observability, and lifecycle management.
• Understanding of insurance processes and regulatory expectations.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws.
• Knowledge of AI/ML lifecycle and Responsible AI best practices.
• Proficiency with AWS, Snowflake, and modern data tools, as well as SQL and Python.
• Proven skills in project and solutions delivery management.
• Experience in defining and executing strategic roadmaps for enterprise data solutions.
• Ability to assess project risks and exposures, identify alternatives, and drive improvements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical details to diverse audiences.

• Collaborate with senior leadership on Data initiatives vision and direction.
• Lead teams comprising data engineers, managers, and Data Product Managers.
• Drive cultural transformation and capability enhancements across the organization.
• Ensure that the data talent strategy aligns with organizational needs and fosters a high-performance environment.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.
• Address complex, ambiguous, enterprise-level challenges with data-driven solutions.
• Manage the entire data lifecycle, from ideation to value realization, ensuring measurable and governed outcomes.
• Function at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Employ strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and influence skills.
• Coach and develop individuals to meet personal, departmental, and organizational objectives.
