Director, Program Management Overview

Our client is seeking a Director, Program Management to lead complex, cross-functional programs that are critical to business strategy, operational execution, and customer outcomes. This leader will own the end-to-end program management function, establishing governance, driving execution rigor, and ensuring alignment across product, engineering, operations, finance, and executive stakeholders. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and hands-on leadership in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Key Responsibilities

Own and oversee a portfolio of high-impact, cross-functional programs aligned to company priorities and long-term strategic objectives.

Establish and scale program management standards, frameworks, and governance models to ensure consistency, transparency, and predictability across initiatives.

Partner closely with executive leadership to translate strategic goals into executable roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans.

Lead program managers and project leaders, providing mentorship, performance management, and professional development.

Drive risk identification, dependency management, and issue resolution across multiple teams and workstreams.

Ensure clear communication of program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Influence without authority across product, engineering, operations, finance, and go-to-market teams to ensure accountability and delivery.

Continuously improve program execution through data-driven insights, retrospectives, and process optimization.

Manages programs that span multiple business units, geographies, and functional teams.

Interfaces regularly with C-level executives and senior leaders to provide visibility into progress, trade-offs, and decision points.

Required

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in program management, project management, or related operational leadership roles.

Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional programs in complex organizational environments.

Proven experience building and scaling program management frameworks and governance models.

Strong executive communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information for senior audiences.

Deep understanding of agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery methodologies and when to apply them.

Preferred

Qualifications

Experience leading program management functions in technology, SaaS, or product-driven organizations.

Prior people management experience with responsibility for hiring, coaching, and performance development.

Background working in high-growth or transformation-oriented environments.

PMP, PgMP, or similar certification is a plus. Location
