Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- We look for at least 2 years of experience as a project engineer on commercial construction projects.
- We require hands-on experience managing technical documents using office and collaboration tools such as Autodesk BIM360, Bluebeam, Procore, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
- We value prior exposure to data center engineering, mission-critical facilities, or similar critical environments.
- We expect strong written and verbal communication skills.
- We need the ability to work across multi-disciplinary, highly technical engineering and program teams.
- We look for strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage documentation risks and deadlines.
- We value knowledge of project schedule sequencing across design and construction phases.
- We prefer candidates with familiarity in building codes, regional regulations, commercial or industrial power systems, or mechanical systems.
- We prefer NETA or ASHRAE certification, commissioning-focused training, or related education.
- We prefer experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- We manage multiple engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents at the same time while coordinating workflows with the right stakeholders.
- We review technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual requirements.
- We conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on design drawings before they are released for construction.
- We coordinate engineering and architectural specifications, drawings, and permit submissions for active projects.
- We support engineering managers and regional engineers by preparing complete documentation through design and construction handoff, including drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and calculations.
- We oversee archiving, tracking, filing, version control, and naming standards for project records.
- We collaborate with engineering teams and business partners to standardize deliverables and improve consistency globally.
- We build and maintain processes, reporting mechanisms, metrics, and KPIs that improve portfolio visibility and execution.
- We manage design scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, and risk across the colocation engineering portfolio.
- We prepare executive-ready updates and narratives that explain costs, timelines, customer metrics, and strategic trade-offs.
- We drive program strategy, deployment planning, and execution support for engineering teams.
- We identify process and tooling improvements that strengthen team efficiency.
- We partner closely with business development, supply chain, operations, engineering, and project delivery teams.
- We provide training and direct support to colocation engineering teams.
- We learn the AWS data center lifecycle for colocation sites and help apply that knowledge globally.
