Our large pharmaceutical client is seeking a Downstream Process Development Scientist to join their growing team in Spring House, PA.
This position will support the small scale lentiviral vector downstream team on platform process optimization, characterization, new processes development, investigations, and technical transfer.
Conduct small scale lentiviral vector production process development using material from mammalian cell culture. Purification techniques will include depth filtration, affinity and/or Ion exchange (IEX) chromatography, and tangential flow filtration (TFF), sterile filtration etc
Analyze data post run and present analysis.
Maintain record of analytical data.
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, and all relevant safety and quality standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.Excellent analytical skill to identify gaps and root causes of issues and think out of the box to develop a solution.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study
2+ years of hands-on experience as a lab-based Scientist supporting downstream work including filtration of material, protein chromatography, and TFF (Tangential Flow Filtration)
Protein chromatography experience – bind/elute, ion exchange, or size exclusion
Lentiviral downstream process development experience is a plus
Hands on experience with Cytiva AKTA is a plus
$80,000-$100,000 (flexible based on experience)
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Multiyear contract – After 1 year on contract, the individual will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role or have their contract renewed for another year
10 PTO days, 6 paid sick days annually & paid Holidays

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
