Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will utilize their design expertise to dream big ideas on various and complex water and wastewater utility projects. We’d rely on your collaboration skills to lead our team members, and coordinate interdisciplinary work between teammates, for both local and remote projects. The projects associated with this position will focus on electrical design primarily for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
By you taking the lead with generating and reviewing electrical equipment drawings, specifications, and approving vendor submittals, we will continue to ensure the solid relationship our clients have come to expect from Jacobs. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer for our Columbus, OH office to execute exciting and challenging projects throughout the region. Responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities
From planning studies to final design, the electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for complex projects
Electrical designs including low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and control schematics.
Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums
Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to industry standards.
Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements
Knowledge and design proficiency in vendor equipment options
Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash
Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients
Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor’s request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings
Manage several different assignments simultaneously
Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates.
Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in OH and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or ability to obtain PE license within one year of hire).
5 to 15 years of experience in professional design of electrical systems associated with water and wastewater projects
Electrical system commissioning experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) program experience in REVIT, and AutoCAD.
Instrumentation and Control system design experience.
Experience with industrial PLC hardware implementation (Allen Bradley, Modicon, or Siemens for example).
Experience in design of SCADA systems.
Experience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experience

The base salary range for this position is $100,300.00 to $140,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
