Embedded Software Engineering Manager

Requirements

Must have:

- Must possess an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance - Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science, or a related field with extensive software development experience - Demonstrated experience in embedded development using real-time operating systems - Proven capability to manage complex technical embedded software systems/programs - Experience in process improvement and cost management - Prior experience in software engineering management or as a software engineering team lead, including task planning, budget management, subcontractor management, and employee development - Strong expertise in software architecture and design - Proficiency in C/C /Ada programming languages - Familiarity with Linux/VxWorks - Experience in DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, Git/GitLab) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) - Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams - Experience in Basis of Estimate (BOE) development and Control Account Manager (CAM) roles - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Background in earned value management, including Agile EVMS - Strong business acumen, management influence, and systems thinking - Exceptional interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

- Manage and develop the engineering and technology team - Provide technical coaching and mentoring, oversee work assignments, and facilitate employee career growth - Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities - Oversee recruitment, selection, and training of employees, manage performance evaluations, and facilitate salary planning and recognition actions - Support program development and ensure compliance with engineering processes, while promoting customer focus - Serve as the technical conscience for program requirements - Engage in potential travel for customer and supplier site visits, both within and outside the Continental United States
