Requirements
Must have:
- Over 5 years of experience in delivering embedded systems for production hardware, ideally within Aerospace, Defense, or high-reliability sectors.
- Expert proficiency in C programming with a comprehensive grasp of memory management, real-time constraints, and optimization methodologies.
- Strong Python programming skills for automation, scripting, and test frameworks.
- Solid experience with embedded Linux, including kernel configuration and device driver development.
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet, along with ADCs, DACs, and DDR memory.
- Proficient in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers to resolve hardware and software issues.
- Experience in designing systems for harsh space environments is a plus, particularly regarding radiation hardening and thermal management.
- Optional experience in working with FPGAs, including communication interfaces and collaborative troubleshooting with design engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality, maintainable software in Python and C for satellite command scripts and crucial embedded applications.
- Design, implement, and manage embedded Linux systems tailored for satellite payloads, focusing on kernel setup, driver creation, and system optimization for constrained hardware.
- Create and troubleshoot low-level device drivers for typical interfaces and associated peripherals.
- Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of satellite flight software, including command handling, telemetry, and autonomous operations.
- Spearhead board bring-up activities for new hardware in collaboration with electrical engineers to validate designs and interface functionality.
- Engineer software while considering space-specific challenges like radiation effects and thermal limitations.
