Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 3 years of experience in a relevant programming language and foundational software development principles, with experience in projects similar to those handled by the Engineer II team at MAPFRE.
- Ability to handle technical tasks with close supervision from senior engineers.
- Basic decision-making skills for technical tasks, with complex issues escalated to senior team members.
- Occasional interaction with business analysts, product owners, or project managers for requirement clarifications and technical updates.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in technical design discussions, proposing solutions and collaborating with architects and senior engineers to ensure designs meet business needs and technical feasibility.
- Create, implement, and test sophisticated software solutions adhering to coding standards and best practices, including test-driven development principles.
- Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to maintain code quality and fulfill functional requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Construct solutions that align with Mapfres IT strategy, translating business objectives into technical requirements and selecting suitable technologies.
- Manage the solution delivery process from development to production, including monitoring deployed solutions, addressing production issues, and enhancing operational efficiency based on SRE practices.
- Collaborate with testers to assure overall code quality and facilitate successful user acceptance testing.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies relevant to the position and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Ensure software quality through the identification and correction of defects while validating software specifications.
- Develop and implement quality control processes to meet established quality standards.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000, influenced by skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Additionally, some roles may include commissions or bonuses as outlined in our compensation plan.
