Requirements

Must have:

- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with a vocational or technical background.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Must meet all relevant state and federal certification and licensing requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
  • Extensive training in general maintenance, electrical, or refrigeration work.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance inventory and requisition processes.
  • Familiarity with exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
  • Valid Drivers License is required.
  • No supervisory experience necessary, but ability to mentor others preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate to resolve maintenance issues independently.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Carry and operate necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
  • Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as required.
  • Effectively communicate daily activities and issues with other shifts using approved methods.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC.
  • Utilize strong mechanical skills across various maintenance categories including air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Execute complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems adhering to company standards and local codes.
  • Troubleshoot and fix various types of equipment and systems, including HVAC units and electrical devices.
  • Implement the Lockout/Tagout system prior to conducting maintenance work.
  • Exhibit advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs pertinent to preventative maintenance and energy management.
  • Train and mentor fellow engineers as needed, assume Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds.
  • Observe all safety and security policies, report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and complete necessary training.
  • Maintain professionalism with personal appearance and confidentiality of information.
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships with colleagues and guests while addressing service needs.
  • Perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving objects and navigating stairs and ladders as required.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
