Engineering Manager

Overview:

The Engineering department should be the bridge between R&D and Production for board design, configuration control, testing and production facility readiness.

The Engineering manager should take responsibility for that. To coordinate and direct the gas, flame and detection & suppression projects, to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. The Engineering Director shall be responsible for leading the engineering team by providing technical leadership and ongoing improvements.

Major Responsibilities:

• To establish an engineering department.
• Implement Agile
• Lead an engineering team including systems, manufacturing and component engineering, to realize functional, cost-efficient product designs that meet Emerson’s standards of quality, reliability, product performance, cost and manufacturability.
• Lead Emerson’s New Product Introduction process (NPI) manage all activities for preparing a product smooth move from R&D to a mass production (board design, configuration control, testing, production facility).
• Develop and maintain engineering procedures and systems that conform to Emerson’s policies and Spectronix production, to assure uniformity and consistency.
• Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
• Create models, prototypes, pre-production versions of new products
• Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in all related departments.
• Maintain a cost reduction focus to constantly look for opportunities to reduce the cost and labour required to manufacture our products.

Job Requirements:

Electronics / Mechanical / Industrial Engineer degree from a certified university

1. 4-7 years of experience in engineering
2. Fluent Hebrew and English
3. Experience in using and implementing Agile system (PDM)
4. At least 3 years of experience in management position- Management should include technical work, as well as direct employee's management.
5. Experience in NPI, NPD processes
6. Familiar with electronic production processes and technologies
7. Familiar with metal and plastic electronic packaging
8. High experience with testing equipment and testing facilities
9. DFM (design for manufacturability), DFT (design for testability) knowledge
