Turning Steel Structures into Game Changing Spaces You understand how things get built in the real worldnot just how they look on paper Youre technically sharp detail oriented and at your best when solving complex design and constructability problems You value accuracy clear standards and the autonomy to use your expertise to find the right solution ROXBOX is seeking an Engineering Manager Professional Engineer to lead our design and engineering function for steel frame modular and shipping container projects Youll guide a team of architects and designers establish technical direction and follow projects from design through fabricationensuring what we draw can actually be built This isnt a purely theoretical engineering role Youll work directly with the people designing fabricating and delivering the finished product What Youll Do Lead and develop a design team of approximately 410 architects and designers including remote team membersEstablish technical direction priorities standards and accountability across active projectsReview designs and drawings for accuracy constructability materials sequencing installation and code complianceApply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly DFMA principles to improve project executionWork directly with Production to resolve design and engineering questions during fabricationCoordinate with clients and internal teams to translate project requirements into practical technical solutionsIdentify and solve design fabrication and construction issues before they become field problemsImprove engineering and design processes to increase consistency quality and efficiency as ROXBOX scalesWhat Makes You a Strong Fit 5 years of engineering and design experience ideally within modular construction manufacturing steel fabrication or design build environmentsLicensed Professional Engineer PE with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states; existing multi state licensure strongly preferred ROXBOX can assist with obtaining additional state licenses as needed Structural and MEP experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of constructability fabrication and real world building conditionsAble to create interpret review and improve detailed technical drawingsComfortable making technical decisions independently while clearly communicating the reasoning behind themExperience leading technical teams delegating work setting priorities and maintaining accountabilityStrong communication across design shop field client and leadership teamsRequired Tools RevitAutoCADSketchUpTechnical drawing production and modificationCompensation & Details Full time salaried leadership position with benefitsMondayFriday with occasional after hours coordination as neededOn site in Houston TX 77041Compensation 115000160000 based on experience and current state licensure Why ROXBOX Solve real engineering and constructability challengesnot theoretical exercisesSee your work move quickly from design into fabrication and finished structuresWork closely with Design Production Operations and leadershipHave meaningful ownership over technical standards and engineering processesHelp build repeatable systems that support a growing modular manufacturing companyWe build real things and everything we design has to work in the real world If you take pride in getting the details right solving difficult technical problems and seeing your work physically built wed like to hear from you How to Apply Apply today by submitting your resume and cover letter
