Field Network Engineer

Requirements

Must have:

- We require 3–5 years of experience in IT.

• We require 1–3 years of hands-on experience installing and configuring network equipment.
• We prefer certification in CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCWA.
• We require a bachelors degree, associate degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• We need proven experience communicating network infrastructure issues and driving remediation.
• We value demonstrated experience implementing disaster recovery procedures.
• We expect current knowledge of security and networking best practices.
• We require an understanding of cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
• We need strong written and verbal communication skills.
• We expect comfort working in a healthcare environment.
• We require the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted.
• We require the ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch, kneel, crawl, and sit or stand for extended periods.
• We require the ability to reach above, at, and below shoulder level and to flex and extend the neck.
• We require good hand and finger dexterity.
• We require vision capabilities including color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• We require a valid drivers license.
• We require willingness to be available after hours, including weekends, for critical issues as needed.
• We require willingness to travel across the United States up to 90%.

Responsibilities:

- We install, configure, and tailor healthcare infrastructure systems after the purchase of hardware or software.

• We assess existing infrastructure and remediate it to support new solution deployments.
• We may also handle installation, validation, and connectivity for assigned equipment.
• We monitor and customize client systems to ensure a positive customer experience.
• We partner with Sales, Project Management, Network Design, Digital Services, customer IT, and biomed teams to deliver sold solutions.
• We consult with customer IT and biomed teams on installation requirements and cybersecurity concerns.
• We act as a co-lead by building strong customer and sales relationships and maintaining regular communication.
• We proactively identify customer needs, drive issue resolution, and support follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
• We complete administrative work such as service logs, internal records, technical project plans, technical walk-throughs, and post-warranty discussions.
• We manage vendor service support when needed.
• We mentor and coach local field engineers on installed solutions.
• We provide instruction on equipment operation, diagnostics, effective use, and repair.
• We support engineering with new product releases.

Company:

We are hiring a Field Network Engineer to support the installation and optimization of healthcare infrastructure systems. This is a highly mobile role with approximately 90% travel, typically Monday through Friday, with most weekends spent at home. Travel-related expenses such as hotels, airfare when applicable, fuel, and meals are covered by us, and a company vehicle is provided. The position is based in the field across the United States, and candidates must reside in IL, WI, IA, or MO.

We offer a salary of $65,000 to $75,000 along with benefits including 401(k), dental, health, vision, life insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid time off, and a retirement plan. The role is performed in person.
