About The Role Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our BEAGLE Team, supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions within an Agile environment, contributing to the security and efficiency of border enforcement operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Angular, and will work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality, releasable software in short sprint cycles. This position offers the flexibility of remote work for qualified candidates, with a requirement for onsite presence 2 to 3 days a week for local team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience, or
- Associate’s degree and 10 years’ experience, or
- High School diploma/equivalent and 12 years’ experience
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust clearance (may take up to 12 months or longer)
- 3+ years of technical experience in software design, development, and implementation in a Windows environment
- Proficiency in Java 8 or higher, with strong understanding of OOP principles, data structures, and algorithms
- In-depth knowledge of Angular framework, including component creation, services, state management, and UI performance optimization
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and related modules, including dependency injection and aspect-oriented programming
- Strong experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including standards, versioning, and documentation
- Experience using SQL or PL/SQL to access Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server databases
- Current or recent government security clearance (preferred)
- Previous government contracting experience (preferred)
- Technical certifications such as OCAJP, OCPJP, OCE, OCM, CSM (preferred)
- DOD 8570 certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with HTML, React, Spring, VMware, ETL tools, ESB, message queuing, application security, automated testing, UML, VersionOne, Jira, Sparx Enterprise Architect, PostGres, Aurora (highly desirable)
- Design, develop, and implement custom software solutions and database applications for legacy and modern systems with minimal oversight
- Collaborate effectively within Agile Scrum teams to support product development and delivery
- Participate actively in sprint planning, artifact creation, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement
- Contribute to release planning by developing and refining software engineering guidelines and best practices
- Analyze complex project challenges and develop innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, and methodology
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables, providing technical guidance and problem resolution
- Mentor junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development
- Support the integration and deployment of software solutions, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards
