Full Stack Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- We are seeking a full stack developer with at least 2 years of professional experience, or equivalent hands-on experience building production software.

• We need strong front-end expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with practical experience delivering features in a modern web framework such as Vue.js.
• We require experience building back-end services and APIs in Python.
• We look for hands-on knowledge of GraphQL APIs and schema-led development.
• We need experience with relational databases, especially Postgres SQL.
• We expect the ability to design, implement, and support end-to-end functionality across user interface, API, and database layers.
• We value familiarity with software testing practices, including unit and integration tests.
• We require experience using version control and collaborating through pull requests and code reviews.
• We seek an understanding of application performance, scalability, and maintainable software design.
• We prefer candidates who are comfortable troubleshooting issues across both front-end and back-end systems.
• We require a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• We may consider an associates degree if supported by an additional 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience or interest in scientific software, materials science, research settings, or similarly technical domains is a plus.

Responsibilities:

- We want you to join a cross-functional Agile team and contribute to sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and code reviews.

• You will design, build, and maintain user-facing functionality, with a primary focus on front-end development.
• You will also develop and support back-end APIs, business logic, and data access layers in Python.
• You will create responsive, scalable, and maintainable application features with an emphasis on usability, performance, and clean architecture.
• You will build and maintain GraphQL services and integrations with Postgres SQL databases.
• You will collaborate with designers, product partners, scientists, and engineers to turn workflows and requirements into reliable software solutions.
• You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, debugging, deployment support, and ongoing product enhancements.
• You will write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, including unit and integration tests for front-end and back-end systems.
• You will troubleshoot issues across the stack, identify root causes, and deliver effective fixes in a timely manner.
• You will participate in architecture and design discussions and help shape technical decisions.
• You will help improve development practices, engineering standards, and team delivery processes.
• You will work closely with scientists and engineers to understand domain-specific workflows and support research-oriented development.
• You will explore and evaluate new tools, libraries, and technical approaches that improve product capability and developer productivity.
