About the Role

Veeva Systems is seeking Software Engineers - Java to build and deliver cloud-based software products that support the life sciences industry. You will contribute to the technical design, development, testing, and delivery of product features across Veeva's growing portfolio. This role is suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems, working in rapid development cycles, and building scalable enterprise software in a collaborative environment.

As a Software Engineer, you will work with highly motivated engineering teams to develop robust applications, write high-quality code, and contribute to products that help life sciences companies bring therapies and medicines to patients more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and deliver cloud-based software features and products.

• Contribute to the technical design and implementation of product functionality.
• Build robust, scalable application architectures.
• Write clean, readable, maintainable, and testable code.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming principles and software design patterns.
• Develop rich and effective user experiences.
• Maintain high-quality code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering team members throughout the development lifecycle.
• Work in rapid development sprints to deliver production-ready software.
• Mentor and support junior software developers.
• Contribute to improving team engineering practices and technical capabilities.

Required Qualifications

* 3+ years of professional experience with Java.

• Experience preferably gained within an enterprise cloud software environment.
• Proven ability to write clean, testable, readable code in a collaborative team environment.
• Hands-on experience with open-source and enterprise technologies such as:
• Spring
• MySQL / PostgreSQL
• Hibernate
• Git
• Jenkins
• Mockito
• Tomcat
• Linux
• AWS
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Strong mentoring skills and a demonstrated ability to help improve the performance and capabilities of an engineering team.
• Strong interest in solving complex technical challenges.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced software development environment.
• Must have the unrestricted right to work in the United States.

Compensation

* Base salary: $85,000–$225,000

• Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, qualifications, and expected contributions.
• The position may also be eligible for additional compensation such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
