Java / React Full stack Developer

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Java / React Developer in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Develop and host microservices within AWS cloud environments.
• Support claims, disputes, and fraud case-management applications and initiatives.
• Perform discovery work to identify technical requirements and determine the development needed to deliver assigned initiatives.
• Evaluate existing systems and determine how new functionality can be integrated or when components should be rebuilt.
• Work closely with lead engineers and architects to make technical decisions and drive solutions.
• Lead technical discussions and coordinate work associated with assigned epics.
• Develop applications that consume Kafka events and utilize Cassandra for data storage.
• Support the complete development lifecycle, including build, integration, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work across public and private cloud environments and quickly adapt to internal platforms and frameworks.
• Leverage approved AI development tools to improve efficiency while independently validating code quality and accuracy.
• Take ownership and accountability for assigned development work and deliver high-quality solutions.

Skills Required

• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Spring Boot and microservices development experience.
• Hands-on cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Experience developing and hosting microservices in a cloud environment.
• Understanding of AWS ECS or comparable cloud infrastructure, routing, gateways, networking, and security concepts.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Experience working with Kafka or similar event-driven technologies.
• Knowledge of Cassandra, NoSQL, or comparable database technologies.
• Ability to understand existing applications and determine how new requirements should be incorporated.
• Ability to work independently and quickly learn unfamiliar technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and partner effectively with engineers and architects.

Education & Work Experience

• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
