About the Role The Lead Analyst, Data & Analytics role serves as a senior technical leader within the platform support function. This position is responsible for resolving complex data and analytics issues across the full technology stack and setting technical standards for the team. The role combines hands-on problem solving with leadership, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure platform reliability and drive continuous improvement.
It is critical for maintaining high-quality support and long-term platform stability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Data and Analytics Support Desk, providing technical leadership and daily guidance
- Maintain hands-on involvement in complex support cases while mentoring the team
- Serve as senior escalation point for SQL, ETL/ELT, data warehouse, and BI issues
- Ensure high-quality resolution of complex data platform problems with strong technical standards
- Coach team members to enhance expertise and troubleshooting skills
- Prioritize and triage high-impact incidents for efficient resolution
- Drive SLA adherence with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring data defects and collaborate on improvements
- Communicate clearly and proactively with clients during issue resolution
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success on systemic platform issues
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve platform performance and reliability
- Contribute to documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing
- Support incident management tools such as PagerDuty and Jira
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and performance management
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8-10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or BI platform environments
- Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in data or analytics
- Strong customer-facing skills with clear communication of technical concepts
- Advanced SQL skills including complex joins, CTEs, optimization, and tuning
- Hands-on experience debugging ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and/or Python
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred; Databricks, Redshift acceptable)
- Experience working within AWS environments
- Experience with dbt
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills in complex data environments
- Ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical responsibility
- Comfortable challenging architectural decisions and driving platform improvements
- Experience conducting root cause analysis on data defects
