Role: API Automation Test Engineer

Location: Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)

Duration: Contract W2 Only

Visa: USC/GC/GC-EAD/H4 EAD/L2S

Required Skill: REST API Automation with Java, API Testing, Functional testing

Nice to have: Load testing, Performance testing and Application security testing

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for REST APIs.

Collaborate with developers and QA teams to define test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Execute functional and regression testing across multiple environments.

Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

Contribute to test planning, documentation, and continuous improvement of QA processes.

Nice to Have: Perform application security testing and load/performance testing using relevant tools.

Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of experience in API automation and functional testing.

Strong in REST API automation with Java, using RestAssured / Postman.

Hands-on with TestNG / JUnit / Cucumber frameworks.

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Basic knowledge of performance (JMeter) and security testing (OWASP ZAP) preferred.

Solid understanding of SDLC, debugging, and test documentation.

Excellent analytical and communication skills.
