Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Machine Design Engineer at Rock Tool & Machine, located in Plymouth, MI.
The Machine Design Engineer will be responsible for developing innovative machine designs, creating 3D models and detailed drawings, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the successful manufacturing, assembly, and performance of equipment.
Daily tasks include working on mechanical engineering projects, designing automated systems, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards throughout all phases of design and implementation.
Proficiency in Machine Design, including the ability to conceptualize and implement designs for automation and machinery.
Strong Mechanical Engineering skills for analyzing and solving design challenges in manufacturing and automation processes.
Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating 3D models and detailed drawings.
Knowledge and experience in working with Machinery and Automation systems.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant experience.
Experience in industrial automation or manufacturing environments is preferred.
Working knowledge of GD&T and material selection is an advantage.
