Machine Learning Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build scalable AI/ML solutions for a variety of mission-critical applications.

This role is hybrid, on-site 2 days a week in Washington, DC (Navy Yard Metro Station).

Must be eligible to obtain a public trust clearance with the Department of Transportation

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and train machine learning systems and AI agents

Implement and develop Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, and AI agent architectures/use cases

Deploy ML solutions, monitor performance, and test model accuracy and efficiency

Collaborate with data engineering teams to algin ML pipelines

Document artifacts, processes, and performance outcomes

Mentor junior team members

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

5+ years of experience in ML engineering

Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, Databricks, PySpark, MLflow, etc.

Experience with AWS data infrastructure and DevOps workflows, S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, etc.

Experience with deep learning techniques, LLMs, RAGs, AI Agents

Compensation:

$150,000-170,000 annual salary, depending on experience
