The CNC Operator is responsible for writing, adjusting, and troubleshooting CNC programs for machines to produce steel parts and rail.
Operate assigned CNC machines, including Johnford, Rockford, and Voortman
Read and interpret drawings/part specifications; verify and adjust speeds and feeds for optimal machining
Make necessary offset adjustments to maintain tolerances
Change and maintain cutting inserts
Verify parts meet specifications using scales, calipers, micrometers, and fixed gauges; complete inspection reports as required
Clean machined parts to ensure readiness for assembly
Report tooling or setup issues to the supervisor promptly
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Be punctual and follow company policies and procedures
High school diploma or equivalent
CNC multi-axis training and experience preferred
3-12 months of CNC multi-axis machine operator experience preferred
Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
Able to read and write legibly; complete production reports accurately
Proficient in using a tape measure and other measuring devices
Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail components
Quality-oriented and a team player
Complete understanding of safe work practices
