Requirements
Must have:
- Minimum of 5 years in professional software engineering - Proven proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (or similar frameworks) - Familiarity with Spring Batch or large-scale batch processing systems - Direct experience with Kafka or event-driven messaging systems - Strong knowledge of SQL with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) - Experience supporting backend applications in production settings - A track record of mentoring or leading engineering teams - Prior experience in a team lead or people management role is a plus - Understanding of SOX-compliance and audit-heavy processes is advantageous - Familiarity with data platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks is desirable - Awareness of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is a bonus - Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams is beneficial
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a globally distributed engineering team - Drive performance management, career development, and team involvement - Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence - Oversee software building and delivery, guiding teams through the stages from design to production - Direct architecture, design, and implementation of Java-based backend services - Provide technical oversight of Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Kafka, and relational databases - Ensure adherence to engineering best practices without being a full-time individual contributor - Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Audit teams to ensure accurate compensation adjustments - Balance rapid delivery with reliability, compliance, and long-term viability - Assist in production readiness, release management, and operational stability - Comply with SOX-compliant development and change management processes - Participate in audits, controls, and documentation reviews
