Job Title: Master Scheduler
Location: Temple TX
Salary: $85K - $95K (DOE)
Position Overview
The Master Scheduler is responsible for building and maintaining accurate production schedules that support customer demand and operational requirements. This position converts demand signals into executable shop floor schedules and helps coordinate planning activities across the operation. The role is focused on maintaining schedule discipline, improving material and capacity alignment, and supporting consistent on time delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the master production schedule to match forecasted and confirmed demand.
- Translate demand plans into realistic and stable production schedules within Oracle EBS and related planning systems.
- Oversee the release of planned work orders and ensure planning rules, approval steps, and system parameters are followed.
- Maintain planning time fences and schedule controls to reduce last minute changes and stabilize production flow.
- Monitor daily and weekly schedule performance and take corrective action when issues arise.
- Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales to resolve conflicts and support schedule alignment.
- Lead routine scheduling and production coordination meetings.
- Review system recommendations and ensure planning guidelines are applied consistently.
- Identify root causes of late orders, rescheduling, or manual overrides and implement improvements.
- Maintain accurate lead times, lot sizes, routing, and other planning data.
- Support SIOP activities by ensuring execution plans match approved demand and available capacity.
- Create schedule related reports and metrics to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive process improvements aimed at reducing manual planning work and increasing system driven scheduling accuracy.
- Analyze supplier performance and procurement data to ensure targets are met and take action when issues appear.
- Lead corrective action work for supplier or schedule related problems.
- Use continuous improvement tools to remove waste and reduce variation in planning processes.
- Prepare required planning documentation, procedures, and reporting.
- Demonstrate independent decision making while knowing when to escalate or involve leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5 years experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Oracle EBS or Oracle ASCP (Preferred)
- Background in make to order or complex engineered manufacturing is beneficial.
- Ability to drive alignment across functions and reinforce process standards.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast moving environment.
