Material Handler

SUMMARY Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. May move materials manually or using a forklift, dolly, wheelbarrow, or a crane operated crane or hoist. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Track all material for each job.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.

• Arranges on site transfer of materials and equipment to meet production schedules - Follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
• Completes and maintains manual or computerized records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
• Coordinates and expedites flow of materials between departments and work areas, according to schedules or department priorities.
• Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material - Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to priorities and material availability - Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications - May assist with computing amount of material required to complete job tasks - Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
