Hanon Systems:
Plan, conduct and report out on research and development projects to improve performance and reduce cost for materials used in thermal management components, including consideration of materials processing, mechanical strength, environmental/chemical resistance, electrical/electronic function, and corrosion resistance of Hanon Systems products.
Plan, conduct, and report out on complex, failure analysis investigations on thermal management and electronic circuit boards and interconnections.
Design/develop test methods and fixtures for mechanical testing and characterization of materials used in materials R&D projects. Select and specify metallic, polymeric and/or elastomeric materials to meet fabrication, mechanical strength, cost, electrical/electronic function, and corrosion resistance requirements for Hanon Systems designed thermal management components.
Propose, develop and execute plans to upgrade Materials Engineering Laboratory analytical capabilities to meet R&D objectives.
Follow and support implementation of ISO/TS 16949 requirements for the Materials Engineering Laboratory.
Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines and policies.
3 or more years experience in Materials Science and Engineering related R&D.
Minimum 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymeric/Macromolecular Engineering, or related engineering field. Advanced degree preferable.
Knowledge of statistical methods, including Design of Experiments helpful.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic principles and theory of Materials Science and Engineering.Experience and knowledge in materials analysis and characterization techniques including Metallography, Electron Microscopy, Corrosion/ Electrochemical Testing, Thermal Analysis, FT-IR Spectroscopy, and/or Mechanical Characterization.
Experience and knowledge in electronic/electrical materials and technologies, printed circuit boards, and manufacturing processes.
