HIRING A MECHANICAL DESIGNEREIT IN EL PASO ACCOUNTABILITY Perform design duties on all projects while working with other designers and BIM design staff to deliver a quality product on schedule Interacts with other designers and clients as authorized by Project Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Act as the primary designer on a project Shall include all phases of a project from kick off to completion of constructionCoordinate all design aspects with other disciplinesProvide schematic design information to Project Manager or senior level design staff such as preliminary calculations design distribution equipment sizing and providing cut sheets of all equipment proposedMake calculations using engineering formulas and software for designResearch and select equipment based on experience and fill out schedulesPrepare drawings and sketches to incorporate into final drawingsResearch design options and document findingsResearch code issues and asks code officials questionsAssure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standardsKeep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional servicesPrepare preliminary task listEdit specificationsIncorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documentsOrganize and maintain project files Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to information required by other team membersSolve engineering problems using experience judgment and education but is expected to ask for assistance when neededContinue learning process by attending in house seminars and continuing education opportunities outside of officePerform additional assignments as requestedneededLICENSINGCERTIFICATION Passed the FEEIT examination preferred This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee Duties responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice Employees will be required to follow any other job related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor This job description may be revised upon development of other duties and changes in responsibilities
