We really need candidates for our Websphere Engineer (Unix/Linux - Websphere) to handle Server Automation responsibilities in Merrimack, NH. This is 18+ month contract on-site. Billing rate is in the 60-70/hr on w2 without benefits range, not much higher if any. The key focus is on SERVER/Infrastructure AUTOMATION (puppet/chef, BladeLogic, JuJu, Ansible, SaltStack etc) AND Websphere. Active AGILE IS REQUIRED, scrum ideally but will consider if they have Agile.
We will consider Websphere Admins with strong Unix skills and ideally some experience with Puppet/Chef or similar automation experience.

There is an exciting new opportunity available working on EI Express initiatives with the Rationalization team. Our main strategic themes include Server Automation and PPMC Work Intake Migration. EI Express is enabling the future through automation and a common service delivery model with Rationalization as one of the work streams focusing on automation and tool optimization in order to improve efficiency.
EI Express is currently operating with an 18 month Product Roadmap.
We are looking for a Middleware Engineer with strong back-end Database (SQL, Oracle) and scripting skills to work on Server Automation for enterprise infrastructure web applications.
This position requires a broad range of database/middleware development and troubleshooting skills. This person should enjoy working in different roles including analysis, development and QA automation. This position will be located in Merrimack, NH.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform development tasks including creating stored procedures, view, tables, shell scripts and other utilities.
- Server as primary Server Automation specialist with understanding the impact of database and/or middleware changes.
- Ability to analyze database and middleware issues.
- Ability to install and configure databases/middleware
- Work using an Agile driven development approach using Scrum/Kanban.
- Work within a distributed team environment.
- Write unit tests and functional tests as required.
General Experience with the following:
- Server Automation required ideally working with BMC BladeLogic or Puppet/Chef, JuJu, Ansible, SaltStack etc
Understanding of networking and load balancing principles
- Administration and automation development on Unix/Linux servers
- Configuration and troubleshooting of Tomcat and/or Websphere Application servers. (At what level experience do they need with Websphere/Tomcat?)
- Knowledge of SQL and developing RDBMS-based applications
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High comfort level with context switching and uncertainty
- Experience with source control tools/methods (SVN and Git/Stash)
- Experience in automated unit and functional testing
- Full stack development knowledge desirable
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Experience with OpenSource software/tools is a plus/desirable
Education and Experience
- At least 5-10 years of development experience
- 5+ years of database/middleware engineering experience
- Experience with Agile required, Scrum ideally
- Experience developing cross-platform solutions (Windows, UNIX, Linux)
