Essential Functions of the Job:
The candidate will have the responsibility to develop new applications, enhance existing systems, and support the application portfolio used primarily by the Environmental Health and Safety department.
The current portfolio includes the internally developed Intranet -based applications and vendor packages. The candidate will also be required to rewrite applications running on obsolete technologies.
Skills & Requirements:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years demonstrated work experience in application development and support is required together with experience working with object oriented programming languages and relational databases.
Candidate must have in-depth experience in business analysis, application development, and design.
The candidate must be able to multitask:
handling multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting project deadlines and work independently. Experience or familiarity with security applications, IIS, and Active Directory is a plus. The selected candidate should have at least one year of project management activities - requirements elicitation and project communication so the relevant stakeholders and members are aware of project status, scope changes, risks, and issues.
The position requires the candidate to achieve a high level understanding of the application portfolio, the computing infrastructures, and other IT organizations required to support the application portfolio.
The following specific technical skills and experience are required for this position:
Developing Single Page Web Applications using HTML 5, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS 3,
Telerik client-side and server-side components
.NET Framework 4.0 (VB.NET and C#.NET) , ASP.NET MVC 4.0
Model View Controller/REST architectures, XML, Web Services and Web API
Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio 2012 and Microsoft .NET framework, ASP.Net, Web Services, XML, Data Transformation Services
SSRS, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Packages
Microsoft SharePoint , MS Project and MS Office
Data Modeling and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Any experience with the following technologies is a plus, but not specifically required:
Oracle databases, Bootstrap, CSS Frameworks, Responsive Web Designs, Microsoft SharePoint, Classic ASP, and any automated testing tools.
