.NET Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- We require at least 5 years of hands-on experience with .NET 8+ and C# development.

• We require at least 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, source control, and work tracking.
• We need strong analytical ability and clear communication skills.
• We require at least 5 years of experience building and supporting secure custom web applications with C#/.NET, Razor Pages, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• We require at least 5 years of experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting IIS-hosted applications in on-premises Windows Server environments.
• We need a strong understanding of relational database design, stored procedures, migrations, data classification/governance, audit trails, and secure handling of sensitive data.
• We require experience supporting public-facing and internal enterprise applications where security, reliability, auditability, regulatory compliance, and operational stability are essential.
• We need familiarity with authentication, authorization, role-based access control, secure configuration management, logging, and error handling for production web applications.
• We require experience working in restricted or high-security enterprise environments where third-party dependencies, public APIs, SaaS platforms, or common cloud services may be limited or unavailable.
• We need solid operational risk management skills and the ability to safely update legacy codebases without adding unnecessary complexity or risk.
• We require strong documentation, communication, and source control practices, along with the ability to coordinate changes across development, test, and production environments.
• An associate degree is preferred.
• We require English proficiency.
• We require candidates to already live in the Carson City/Reno area and work locally.

Responsibilities:

- We modernize legacy VB.NET and .NET Framework applications into C# and .NET 8+.

• We design, develop, and maintain secure web applications using C#/.NET, Razor Pages, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• We deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications hosted on IIS in on-premises Windows Server environments.
• We implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, version control, and work tracking in Azure DevOps.
• We ensure solutions meet our security, scalability, reliability, auditability, and compliance standards.
• We collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with agency needs.
• We maintain thorough documentation and coordinate changes across development, test, and production environments.
• We operate within restricted or high-security enterprise environments while following agency policies on third-party dependencies and cloud services.
• We manage operational risk and make safe changes to existing codebases, including legacy systems.
• We provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• We are expected to work and remain available from 8-5.

Company:

We are seeking a hybrid contractor based in Carson City, NV, with local candidates only and no exceptions. This is a 1099 contract paying $90 per hour, running from August 2026 through June 2027 with the possibility of extension. You will join a highly skilled and experienced team supporting mission-critical agency software systems, with a focus on modernizing legacy applications, strengthening security, and delivering reliable enterprise solutions in a high-compliance environment.
