We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a desire to enhance children's lives as a pediatric therapist. This role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life for children with diverse needs.The Occupational
Therapist will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that promote optimal developmental outcomes.Responsibilities
- Assess children’s motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting areas such as assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), sensory integration, and motor development.
- Provide therapy sessions in outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments based on client needs and therapist desired workplace setting.
- Assist with discharge planning by evaluating progress and establishing strategies for continued development post-therapy.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies to support ongoing progress at home or school.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in case management activities to coordinate services effectively across different settings.
- Valid occupational therapy license or certification in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working with children in pediatric settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, or home (natural environment).
- Experience assisting with ADLs and discharge planning for children with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), orthopedic, genetic and neurological disorders.
- Strong case management skills coupled with the ability to create effective care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, educators, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on patient age and diagnosis.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatric health conditions.
