Plan A Technologies is We are seeking a hands-on, mid-level Operations/QA Engineer to support troubleshooting, testing, and deployment of physical kiosks and related equipment. This role partners closely with remote engineering and support teams to diagnose hardware/software issues, execute structured software testing, and provide on-site support when needed.
This is a hybrid position based in the Hollywood/Florida’s office, requiring at least three days per week onsite, moderate travel, and participation in an on-call support rotation.
Please note: You must have at least 5+ years of experience as QA, Operations, Field Engineering, or a similar technical role. Availability to work onsite and to travel is required for consideration for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to physical kiosks and Windows-based systems
Perform root cause analysis in collaboration with remote teams
Execute functional, regression, integration, and system-level software testing
Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and documentation
Validate new software releases prior to production deployment
Support customer site installations and field troubleshooting (10–30% travel)
Participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure operational continuity
Document issues clearly and provide structured feedback to Engineering and Product teams
Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements
Experience
3–5+ years of experience in QA, Operations, Field Engineering, or a similar technical role
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and defect tracking processes
Experience working with Windows-based systems
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with hardware/software integrated systems
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments
Willingness to travel 10–30% and work onsite at least 3 days per week
Comfortable participating in an on-call support rotation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Detail-oriented and process-driven
Calm under pressure and customer-focused
Proactive, accountable, and hands-on
Comfortable working cross-functionally with distributed teams
Initiative and drive to do great things.
Preferred (Nice To Have)
Basic networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routers, switches)
Experience supporting kiosks, POS systems, IoT, or similar physical equipment
Experience in analyzing system logs and using diagnostic tools
Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment
