Pastry Cook/Baker - Youngs Farm

Youngs Farm, a 133-year-old certified organic family farm, is looking to expand its Baking and Pastry team. We are a busy, high-volume production kitchen specializing in a large variety of baked goods.

Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, and passionate about baking. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who wants to improve their baking skills.

The pastry cook role is responsible for preparing the highest quality baked goods and pastries for the Farm. Professionalism, punctuality and attention to detail are a must to be successful in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Certified level pastry cook and/or experience in food production and/or preparation is preferred.

SKILLS

• Proven skill in baking, pastry preparation, and decoration
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and also within a team
• Ability to communicate effectively with the team and leadership.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures for kitchens and food preparation areas

REQUIREMENTS

• Weighing and measuring ingredients properly and accurately
• Keeping accurate records
• Operating a variety of kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
• Must be able to work approximately of 45 hrs per week
• Work five days per week
• Work weekends and during Holiday Periods
• Typical Shift 430am -130pm

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
