Performance Testing & Engineering team requires a Performance Engineer to provide performance engineering of large trading applications. This individual will assume responsibility for understanding application performance requirements, design performance tests for CICS & WOLA applications, help expand test data using Optim, enhance test scripts, enhance test tools, and, monitor & analyze performance metrics from CICS, zOS and DB2.
The person selected to fill this role will develop test data provisioning tools, develop & maintain test scripts, execute stress tests, determine root-cause of issues, and, drive their resolution.
He/she will engage developers and DBA's on complex technical issues, and, present findings to management & Business stake-holders.
Develop deep knowledge of mainframe applications and performance risk
Develop sound performance test plans for major CICS and WebSphere application changes on zOS
Collect performance requirements, help develop workload scripts and coordinate with off-shore staff
Develop tools using JCL, Optim, REXX and DB2 to provision test data
Monitor the system-under-test using SMF, Sysview and similar tools
Correlate, analyze and document performance metrics
Partner with mainframe developers to improve application performance
Minimum of 7 years of mainframe experience
Deep technical experience in CICS, zOS, DB2, JCL, COBOL and MQ
Experience in root-cause diagnosis, trouble-shooting and test data provisioning
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or similar
Deep technical experience in CICS, zOS, DB2, JCL, COBOL and MQ is required
Knowledge of Optim or other data provisioning tools is a plus
Knowledge of FBSI applications is a plus
Good knowledge of SMF and other system monitoring tools is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication
Knowledge of Excel graphing, project planning and past exposure to LoadRunner are a plus
