Senior Capacity and Performance Engineer
Jersey City, NJ
The engineer is accountable for establishing metrics, best practices and SLAs around performance, capacity and availability. The engineer will be working with architects, developers, business teams, and business analysts to provide capacity estimation, and to implement processes/mechanisms for monitoring end user experience and application availability.
In addition, responsible for insuring that applications are properly planned to meet performance and scalability requirements and therefore these are the key functions:Perform APM tuning of applications in development and critical production applications as well as to provide 3rd level performance support.
Provide evaluation of application performance and capacity on system resources usage to sustain business application volume processing
Utilize diagnostic and monitoring tools to measure, detect, isolate and resolve performance issues found during application development performance testing including measuring, monitoring and capturing required infrastructure & application performance metrics, logs and reports
Provide leadership on management of application availability and insure that any applications deployed will properly scale and meet expected SLAs for availability and performance
Insure proper monitoring is in place to accurately report on availability and service degradation
Advise management of any risks for availability, performance or capacity
Responsible for establishing and implementing processes for reporting on application availability and end user experience for critical applications including:
Creation of Application Scorecards/Dashboards for End User Experience and availability monitoring
Responsible for Client and OPNET for monitoring/alerting on end user experience
