Performance Engineer - Testing & Optimization

Requirements

Must have:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in thermal system design, specifically within HVAC, air conditioning, or similar fields. - Extensive knowledge of heat transfer principles and fluid dynamics related to HVAC systems. - Practical experience in designing and optimizing thermal systems, including refrigerant loops and heat exchangers. - Strong skills in thermal modeling, with proficiency in hand calculations, spreadsheets, and software such as MATLAB or Python.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop performance models for our next-generation HVAC systems to enhance energy efficiency. - Collaborate with the controls team to analyze field data and optimize system performance, contributing to the development of advanced control algorithms. - Create product selection and performance estimation software for use by specifying engineers and partners. - Develop and apply first-principles-based thermal models for heat and mass transfer in desiccant-enabled systems. - Evaluate and communicate system architecture trade-offs, focusing on thermal performance and efficiency. - Conduct formal technical reviews and communicate project status, risks, and contributions to program planning. - Assist the engineering team by providing critical thermal inputs for seamless integration with other systems.
