Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)
Experience: 10 - 15 years Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join the Market Risk Technology team, supporting the Adaptiv market risk platform. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, reliability, and scalability of a core system used for regulatory reporting, stress testing, and daily risk analysis.
This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex production environments, is eager to build deep domain expertise, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams including Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

Support & Operations:
Develop expertise in the Adaptiv platform, including architecture, configurations, batch processing, and integrations
Monitor production workflows, batch jobs, and system health
Troubleshoot and resolve job failures, data issues, and performance bottlenecks
Support critical processes such as month-end, stress testing, and regulatory runs
Participate in on-call support rotation as needed 2.
Engineering & Maintenance:
Maintain and configure Adaptiv components to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements
Perform upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance
Error handling and recovery mechanisms
Automate manual processes and enhance operational tooling 3. Incident & Problem Management:
Act as a technical responder for production incidents
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions
Contribute to incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives 4. Collaboration & Domain Knowledge:
Market Risk and Credit Risk teams
Market risk concepts (e.g., VaR, sensitivities, stress testing)
Downstream data consumption and reporting flows
Translate business requirements into technical solutions 5. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
Maintain detailed technical documentation, including:
Common issues and resolution steps
Promote knowledge sharing to reduce single points of failure Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in platform engineering, production support, or systems engineering
Strong experience with batch processing systems in production environments
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Hands-on experience with:
Scripting (Python, Shell)
Ability to work in regulated, high-control environments Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Adaptiv or similar market risk platforms
Background in financial services, capital markets, or risk technology
Cloud platforms and data services
Exposure to market risk concepts (training will be provided if needed)
