PostgreSQL DBA

A leading IT consulting firm, renowned for its expertise in cloud migrations and database solutions, is seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic team. This company partners with enterprises to modernise their data infrastructure, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure systems.

The Role

• Lead end-to-end database migration projects from Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL on AWS.
• Develop and maintain PL/pgSQL code, perform schema conversions, and remediate stored procedures.
• Optimize database performance and ensure robust security implementations (RBAC).
• Collaborate closely with application teams to deliver high-performing database solutions.
• Work with AWS cloud database services, including Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS PostgreSQL.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code principles for database deployments.

What You'll Need

• Extensive experience as a PostgreSQL DBA with a strong development background.
• Proven expertise in migrating databases from Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud databases: Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with AWS SCT (Schema Conversion Tool) and AWS DMS (Database Migration Service).
• Strong skills in PL/pgSQL development, schema conversion, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database security (RBAC) and managing production cutovers.
