What You Will Be Doing
As a Developer on our Internal Technology team, you’ll own the Power BI application and its underlying databases. You’ll transform data into actionable information, enabling interactive reporting and business insights that support real decisions. This is a hands-on technical role with a direct line to the people who use what you build.
Design and build interactive visualizations using Power BI Desktop, including charts, maps, and KPI scorecards Create complex data models, define table relationships (Star or Snowflake schemas), and implement DAX for advanced calculations Use Power Query to extract, transform, and load data from various sources like SQL Server, Azure, NetSuite, and Excel Optimize report rendering speed and query efficiency to handle large-scale datasets Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure users only see data they are authorized to view Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications for BI solutions by partnering directly with business users Collaborate with vendors on solution design and technical requirements for contracted work Other duties as assigned What You Need for This Position 3-5 years of hands-on Power BI and database development experience in a production environment Expert proficiency in the Microsoft Power BI Stack (Desktop, Service, and Mobile) Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and extraction Experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) Excellent organizational and planning skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or 4 years of related experience Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Nice to Have Microsoft PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst certification Programming knowledge in Python or R for advanced analytics Work Environment This role includes a mix of desk-based work and occasional travel to industrial job sites. You’ll work in climate-controlled indoor environments as well as outdoor construction environments that may involve loud noise, heavy equipment, and high voltages requiring Personal Protective Equipment. Lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
