TerraMar Capital is an investment platform headquartered in Los Angeles that provides capital to middle-market businesses facing an inflection point. TerraMar takes a value-oriented approach to investing in companies in a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on industrials, business services and consumer sectors.

Upon investment, TerraMar works actively with management teams to drive growth and help the business reach its full potential. As part of a small deal team, the Associate will play an active role in evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting TerraMar’s existing portfolio company initiatives, and contributing to investment decisions and portfolio company strategy.

This is a pre-MBA role with a competitive compensation structure and opportunity for long-term career advancement. The position is available for an immediate start.

TerraMar Capital is currently investing from a committed private equity fund.

Candidate Background The ideal candidate would be in their second or third year as an analyst in an investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, or corporate credit program and have a strong interest in pursuing a career in principal investing. The candidate should possess strong analytical capabilities, written and verbal communication skills and general business acumen, as well as be a self-starter.

Specific experience in leveraged finance, mergers & acquisitions, distressed credit, restructuring or commercial/merchant banking would be incrementally useful. In addition, strong consideration will be given to candidates with in-depth experience in corporate strategy, operational turnarounds, financial planning, and analysis or principal investing experience.
