Capitol Aggregates, IncPosition Overview The Process Optimization Analyst is responsible for driving operational excellence across Capitol Aggregates' plant network through advanced process analysis, strategic improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.
This role combines deep data expertise with field experience to lead complex studies, propose high-impact changes, and support long-term operational improvements that enhance plant productivity, reduce costs, and promote sustainable practices.
Design and lead comprehensive process assessments across multiple plant sites to identify inefficiencies, downtime drivers, and optimization opportunities.
Develop strategic improvement roadmaps aligned with business objectives, plant capabilities, and production goals.
Lead cross-functional performance improvement projects from inception through implementation, including post-project impact evaluation.
Serve as a subject matter expert for operations data, process modeling, and analytical tools across the aggregates business.
Build and maintain operational dashboards and advanced metrics to track performance and proactively identify performance gaps.
Analyze root causes of performance issues and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with operations, maintenance, and planning teams.
Evaluate operational best practices across sites and support implementation of standard work and process consistency.
Contribute to capital project assessments through technical analysis, scenario modeling, and post-investment reviews.
Regularly engage with plant managers, supervisors, and corporate teams to provide guidance, share findings, and align on improvement plans.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Lean principles and operational discipline across functions
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data modeling, and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to draw actionable insights from large and complex data sets.
Effective communication and influencing skills; ability to convey technical findings to both operational and executive audiences.
Experience with process mapping tools and statistical software for diagnostics and forecasting.
Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives.
High degree of initiative, accountability, and business acumen.
Familiarity with mechanical and process systems used in aggregate production (e.g., crushers, conveyors, screening systems).
Education & Experience
Master's degree in Data Analytics or a related field
Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in process improvement, operations optimization, or performance analytics.
Comfortable navigating field and office settings to inform decision-making with direct observations.
Highly self-directed, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently.
Ability to present findings and lead discussions with site leaders and executive teams.
Strong understanding of production systems and willingness to engage at ground level.
