Job Summary Night Shift Program Advisors for the CPO Summer programs are responsible for supervising students and ensuring their physical safety during the evening hours in the dormitories from May 31, 2026 to June 27, 2026. PAs will monitor halls after student curfew and be available for emergencies. These positions will work overnight. Other duties as assigned.
Job Duties 45% - Essential - Supervise high school students in dormitories during evening and overnight hours. Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as needed. Serve as point of contact for students requiring overnight support. 40% - Essential - Ensure students' safety throughout the night.
Monitor hallways after curfew to enforce program rules and policies. Conduct routine checks to maintain a secure and orderly environment. 10% - Essential - Night Shift PAs are expected to collaborate with fellow Program Advisors and other program staff while openly communicating student concerns and personal needs to CPO staff. Teamwork and clear communication are essential to ensuring program success. 5% - Essential - Must attend required training sessions, staff meetings to stay informed and fully prepared to support students.
One day of necessary training the week of June 2; will start June 8; break nights of Friday, June 13th - Wednesday, June 18th. Last day of work is June 27.
Minimum Requirements
Education - High School or equivalent and some college education Work Experience 1+ years working with youth Responsibilities JOB KNOWLEDGE Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations Supervisory Responsibilities No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
Budgetary Responsibilities No Budget
Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
Physical Requirements 10% - Stand for prolonged period 10% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period 20% - Walk or move about 10% - Ascend or descend (i.e. stairs, ladder) 10% - Position self to accomplish task (i.e. stoop, kneel, crawl) 20% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself 10% - Extends hands or arms in any direction 10% - Perceive, observe, clarity of vision Working Conditions 10% - Exposure to heat or cold 15% - Wet or humid 20% - Noise 5% - Overnight Travel Room and board provided.
Work Schedule Standard Hours: 40 Compensation Information Expected Salary: $ 17.89/hour Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Essential Personnel Level Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
