Senior Technical Program Manager – Healthcare Technology & Systems Integration
Location: Boston, MA - Hybrid/Remote (1-2 days onsite, flexible)
Employment Type: Contract - 1 year (potential for ongoing extensions)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex technology initiatives supporting healthcare modernization, systems integration, and enterprise transformation efforts. This role will drive communication, coordination, execution, and delivery across multiple IT workstreams, partnering closely with technology leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and implementation teams. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale technical projects in healthcare, public sector, or other highly regulated environments, with strong knowledge of interoperability standards, system integrations, and enterprise technology delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex IT projects from planning through implementation, stabilization, and transition to operations
- Coordinate across business, technology, vendor, and executive stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, decision logs, and delivery trackers
- Identify, assess, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints
- Support requirements gathering, testing, go-live planning, and post-implementation activities
- Review and document system integrations, interface specifications, APIs, and data exchange workflows
- Drive communication and alignment across cross-functional teams while ensuring adherence to organizational standards and delivery timelines
- Provide executive-level status reporting and project updates
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience managing complex IT projects, technical programs, or enterprise technology implementations
- Experience supporting healthcare technology, healthcare data, public sector technology, or other regulated industries
- Strong understanding of interoperability and integration concepts including FHIR, HL7, EDI, APIs, and system-to-system data exchanges
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, SharePoint, or Confluence
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and communicating with executive stakeholders
- Understanding of security, privacy, compliance, and data governance principles
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or ITIL certifications
- Experience with healthcare interoperability, health information exchanges, Medicaid systems, public health technology, or enterprise modernization initiatives
- Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation programs
