it is expected to last 12-17 months The Support Services Division of the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is currently accepting applications for a benefit-eligible Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) / Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Project/Program Manager II (PPMII) in the Public Disclosure Unit.
This PPMII assignment includes working alongside a highly productive, and close-knit team, of PPMII's who manage nearly 9,000 requests each year, working with highly sensitive, complex, and confidential information.
Work Location:This position is primarily remote with a requirement of providing in-person services and attending in-person meetings and training as needed.
The primary worksite is at SeaTac Towers, located in the city of SeaTac under the supervision of Debi Nelson. This position is not overtime eligible; there are flexible schedule options (5/8, 4/10 and 9/80).
Manage and oversee records requests submitted under Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56)
Identify and coordinate production of public records to meet legal deadlines
Coordinate with Sheriff's Office work units and King County departments to ensure all responsive records are identified, consult with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and other agencies
Manage a large caseload with high level of attention to detail and competing deadlines
Review and research responsive records; identify redaction and withholding exemptions that may include photos and/or descriptions of dead bodies, sex crimes or other sensitive cases
Resolve internal and external customer concerns with a high level of customer service;
Utilization of various technology programs, databased and software, such as GovQA, Excel, Access, and Adobe Pro
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Qualified candidates will have experience or aptitude in the following skills and job duties:
Demonstrated strong communications skills, both verbal and written; communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures; individuals with language barriers; meet with record holders and requestors to facilitate responses;
Demonstrated ability to work well independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment;
Experience in project/program management;
Demonstrated ability to research, review and analyze data;
Experience in conducting searches in electronic and paper document filing systems;
Ability to work with sensitive law enforcement documents that may contain offensive material;
Ability to interview parties, facilitate and negotiate needs of request, and make decisions necessary to respond in an expeditious manner;
Ability to adapt to workflow needs and change tasks abruptly when/if needed;
Ability to use MS Office, skilled in gathering, manipulating and using data utilizing a computer and other tools;
Exemplary attendance record;
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Two (2) or more years of experience in project/program management
Experience in public records management;
Intermediate level skill using Microsoft Office Suite
